Biographical files, Michigan Department of Natural Resources, 1920-1988.

Record group 94-264 consists of biographical files of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources (and its predecessor, the Department of Conservation) for the years 1920-1988. Includes portraits, newspaper clippings, resumes, correspondence, and biographical sketches. These records were kept by the Michigan natural resources magazine. They are files on individuals they have written about. Most of the persons were Conservation, later Natural Resources Commissioners. However, there are a few files on department supervisors and directors. One exception is the file on George Mason, who was president of American Motors Corporation. He benefited the department by donating a large tract of land (now called Mason Tract) to the state along the Au Sable River.

10 mss. boxes.
